REPORT FROM FISHING FEVER - www.fishingfever.com.au

25th June 2009

A little rain but still great conditions over the last week for a fish! Many of you have been a put off because of the cold weather but we say ‘suck it up soldier’ and get out there!!

Port Philip Bay
With the recent rains the trevally in Mordialloc creek have stepped it up a gear. Locals fishing under floats with small bits of white bait and prawn tail have reported catching fish to 500g. Also try for some mullet by using size 10 hooks and dough or maggots for bait.

Morne fished on Thursday afternoon with Anton of Mt Martha Rocks. The boys caught 7 squid and one cuttlefish.

Ricketts point still keeps on keeping on with good catches of pinky snapper up to 1.5kg. Fishing with pippies on the bottom and casting 3” Gulp minnows will produce the goods. Try the turn of the tide or the change of light for best results.

Also from Ricketts to Black Rock the squid have been biting well. Customer Ian Officer fished the point during the week and landed 6 squid to 750g.
