SEARED TUNA WITH GARLIC MASH
4 medium potatoes, peeled & chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, chopped
4 x tuna steaks
Asian spice mix
Boil potatoes and garlic in plenty of lightly salted water until tender. Then drain and mash with a little oil. Salt to taste.
At the same time, press tuna into spice mix. Heat a thin layer of oil in a heavy-bottomed pan until almost smoking and panfry tuna until seared on the outside and rarish within. Then add a squeeze of lime juice and turn heat off.
Mound mash on each plate and top with a tuna steak, a sprinkling of oil and serve with a lime wedge on the side.
